When the new super trend, the Nook ereader from Barnes and Noble came out, the creative mastermind Andy Spade, CEO of Jack Spade, jumped on the chance to design high quality covers for them. And what beauties these Nook cases are!

The company, originally started out designing high quality bags for men. Andy Spade, husband of handbag designing icon Kate Spade, and brother to comedian David Spade, had a passion to make bags for men that embody functionality and durability. He succeeded in making carriers that were manly, classy, and durable enough for the army.

He has now taken that vision and created a line of wonderful Nook cases that range from the classically rugged look of the Dipped Industrial Canvas Jack Spade Nook cover, which was inspired by a traditional workglove, to the beautifully chic Leather Navy Embossed Anchor Jack Spade Nook Cover, which is constructed of antiqued hand-rubbed leather with an embossed anchor design engineered into the surface. On the inside of the Leather Navy Embossed Anchor Jack Spade Nook Cover, you'll find a colorful tableau of classic tattoo designs printed on cotton.

Although fantastically designed, and made of high quality material, the Dipped Industrial Canvas cover is not my favorite of the covers because it is basically just a form-fitting "bag" for the Nook. This is fine, and it does protect the ereader, which after all is the idea, but that is it. Some of his other cases, such as the Waxwear or Leather Jack Spade Nook covers are more like a book. You open the front cover, and there is your Nook, snugly secured on the opposite side. This is cool because you don't have to worry about damaging your Nook while you are using it, losing the case, and it honestly just looks better! Depending on the design, it may come with storage pockets for cords, IDs, and other such things.

In conclusion, for guys with a Nook or Kindle (Yes, Jack Spade Nook covers fit the Kindle as well. ), the Waxwear or Leather protective covers are the way to go! They are manufactured with care, functionally designed, and just plain cool looking.
